Birthday Dance

When the big gift comes in at work, I go into a colleague’s office and do the money dance. Not sure if this is endearing or stupid. Plus it is the same colleague every (ok, both) time. He may be somewhat annoyed now, but he will get super annoyed later on. But the thing is not so much the money as it is the successful outcome of a rather long process of work. I like having a project, and I like having a project come to a successful outcome.

So I got a couple of projects for my b-day. One is to watch the internets for a present. Not any random present that might fall out of the cyberspace. Ace got my a present but it has not gotten here yet, so I have a tracking number. That’s kind of like a present in and of itself because I get to anticipate the arrival of the present and check in on it every day. It is coming from Sparks, NV and so I also get to speculate on what they make and / or ship from Sparks, NV. I am kind of guessing it is running related, but it could totally be something else. Exciting!

Also, too, I have a rain barrel. Thanks Sweet Lady! The rain barrel is, of course, also a project because I have to get it installed. A quick survey of the situation leads me to believe I will need a tall ladder and a hacksaw. That’s awesome! The project will have a few steps, but if I take my time it should be straight forward and not too hard. Plus when I am done I will have a super cool rain barrel for the garden that has a little fence. So it is a small project which is part of a longer, ongoing project. Super awesome. I shall do the birthday dance in your office now.

  1. when i have a breakthrough on a work project, i have been known to do the “successful text file conversion via macro of my creation” dance. i would venture to guess the steps of these two dances, yours and mine, are quite similar.

yes, i am purposefully posting a comment with no clues to your on-its-way gift.
