Boob Trust For Life

I’m not entirely sure that I can explain why it is called the Boob Trust.  Something to do with digital underpants and traumatic brain injuries and highly intellectual conversations?  Or maybe we don’t know what we are doing so the idea of our sitting around and talking about it makes us a bunch of boobs?  In any case, I owe a great debt of thanks to the Boob Trust, not only for continued encouragement in the blogging department but for being way too eager to participate in the podcasting experiment.  Loyal readers will no doubt recall the inaugural podcast last month, and this is our second installment.

What follows in the podcast is a discussion about some of the ins and outs of social media.  We have given special attention to the basic question of why a company or organization should be using digital communications.  And by we, I mean Kimberly, social media guress and maker of guacamole, and John, whose owns every Marshall Tucker Band release on vinyl.  They joined me at Filo Bakery in East Asheville — first on the porch and then inside — for this lively and thought provoking discussion.  There are a few issues sound-wise (I now understand what uni-directional means when it comes to microphones.)  There’s a bit of background noise from time to time.  I do hope you will get a sense of how much fun it is to hang out with these folks and maybe our conversation will be of use to you.

This is the first installment of two from this session.  We were having so much fun we put down an hour and a quarter of tape.  After I edited out all my stupid jokes, we still had about 45 minutes, so I’ve broken it into two parts.  Look for part two maybe sometime later in the week.  This installment’s music is “Monsoon” by the Bomboras and can be found on MusicAlley.com.  You can subscribe to the podcast in the iTune’s store.  Search for “Sanuk D.”  No, really!  I find it hard to believe too, but it’s there.
