13 years? “Dancing with the Stars” has been on for 13 years? I’m not trying to sound all NPRish by saying that I have never seen an episode of this show. As far as I can remember, I have not seen a whole episode of “COPS” either, so I think this may as much about how little I watch TV as it does for how choosy I am about what I watch. (Dammit, that sentence came off as all NPR douchey too. That’s really not my point. My point is that I have so much other crap to do. Not that it is better crap, it’s just other crap.)
So, why do I know it is the 13 season on DWTS? (That’s a twitter thing, it means “Dancing With The Stars.” Being a blogger, I know these things.) I know it is the 13th season because that is how they refer to the cast of which Hope Solo is a member. (ie: “Hope Solo, a member of the cast for this 13th season of DWTS ….) I am aware of Hope Solo because she is a great athlete. And she is apparently related to Harrison Ford somehow.
But more on that later. The point is that I could actually be temped into watching DTWS by the thought of seeing a great athlete like Hope Solo perform. This is clearly a case for online streaming if I ever saw one. With great excitement, I have found that one can view Ms. Solo and her dance parter, Mr. Chemerovershreskie, on the internet dancing. While I will admit to being disappointed that this dance was a waltz and not a salsa, that the song was not a waltz but in fact a Dave Mathews song, and that Dave Matthews was not even singing the song but it was a cover, I still have great appreciation for the grace and strength of the daughter of a Federation hero.
