Oh holy jeebus! PolitiFact is is on the Twitters! @Politifact! The only thing better would be to have them produce little thought bubbles on the screen like Pop Up Videos or something. Did you ever notice, by the way, that when you get Rick-Rolled it’s the Pop Up Videos version? Which of course, I can’t find now. Enjoy the real thing, high waisted jeans and all. I mean seriously, doesn’t that belt chafe his nipples?

But where was I? Oh, right, Pop Up Politifact. Actually, if I am going to get through this election cycle, it is going to be on the back of Twitter. Last time around, I was a bit earnest. Really dug in deep for a candidate. Did a mass email and everything. I’m not totally disappointed with the outcome, but it is fair to say that I’m a bit jaded. In addition to which, the whole process seems to be coming off the rails here.

So it’s up to @lizwinstead and @sarajbennincasa and the whole fake cast of the West Wing to pull this thing out for me here. I can get my own giggles when Rick Santorum comes up simply based on
Dan Savage’s reworking of that last name, but some of the rest of these folks will require professional help. I would surely be tired of the Democratic field if we were going to have a Democratic field this time. But it has been such a long time since we had a Republican field, I think this little exercise will do us all good. Getting a rational conservative voice out there would help clarify a lot of the issues we have to deal with. But wait, this is the Republican party we are talking about.
