So, Warren Wilson won a National Championship in Men’s Basketball last night. The final game was a nail biter, and the team had to play hard the whole time to win. It’s an accomplishment to be proud of. Very proud, especially as it comes after years of hard work on the part of the administration, the coaches, and the players to build an athletic program that represents Warren Wilson well. As the community celebrates this accomplishment, I’m reminded of all the reasons why I love the College and of this poem by the poet laureate of the Swannanoa Valley, Billy Edd Wheeler. If only my voice did it justice.
