Did I tell you this one before? About when Elvis got married? Most of us on Team Elvis – Ace, Oldman, Crown Prince, myself – we were all married already. There was one dude who I did not know who wasn’t married. He took the instructions during the rehersal very seriously. None of the rest of us were paying attention.
It’s better than even money that all of the members of Team Priscilla were taking part in their first wedding. They were charmingly conscientious about their wedding party duties. Walking to the front of the church, standing there, and walking back is not terribly difficult. The point, though, is to NOT FUCK UP. That’s easier than it seems. The difference between Team Elvis and Team Priscilla was that we knew things were not that hard.
All this comes up because of the Royal Wedding. Of course I did not care about it and of course I watched some of it. There are also pictures on the internet. The thing about William and Kate and Harry is that they don’t seem so worried about it. It was all so serious with Charles and Di. They had to not break anything. Obviously, that did not work out so hot. Funny how when you try to protect something it gets all fragile, but when you let something alone, it tends to take care of itself.
