Paul wore an engineer’s hat. He wore it so much that I was shocked to see him without it. He was bald. It was not the last time that I was surprised to find that a persistent hat wearer was bald. It surprised me the other day to see that Jason is not bald. He has plenty of hair up there. Not the point though.
The point is that Paul decorated his house with musical instruments. As far as I know, he did not play anything. Where he found these things is another mystery, but back in the day a person could find all sorts of things that just got left around town. Not so much anymore.
Paul may have found it walking to work. He kept up the bulk wheat germ and whatnot down at the co-op. He’d walk all the way down there from his house behind the old location of The Hop. Then he would walk home at night unless Rosalie came by to pick him up. Somebody said Paul had a PhD in theoretical physics or some such shit. I think that’s true. I also think Paul kind of had it made. So did Paul.
