Golgotha to the Kotel

I’m not good at team sports and I am attractive in low light, so holy man seemed like my only option.  The problem with that, of course, is it’s hard to be holy when you are hoping someone is watching.

Gotta let your fringe hang

The instructions are to light the Hanukkia in the evening, not during the day when it would not be visible, and to place it in the window on street level where it can be seen by passers-by.

Miracles happen here

Cana is, as you recall, the site of Jesus’ first miracle: turning water into wine.  I can turn a can of Copenhagen into something that looks like a bottle of ice tea, but water into wine is the real deal.

As a little detour from all the Jesus, we wanted to visit the center of Kabbalist learning.  There is a reason it thrives here: trying to navigate the town is a total mystery.  We should have brought a tour guide.  Or Madonna.
